If you or someone you know or love contracted COVID-19, everyone’s focus was on their recovery.
Most people do recover in just a few weeks. But for some people, the struggle isn’t over and even months later they are dealing with symptoms. Some sources estimate that at least 25-30% of those who’ve had COVID are affected by long-term symptoms. This has now become known as “long haulers”.
COVID-19 Assistance: The CDC has suggested that some of the symptoms of “long-haul” COVID can include fatigue, brain fog, mood swings, joint pain, muscle weakness, and decreased mobility.
And these are the types of symptoms that might be missed or not easily diagnosed by your medical practitioner so the CDC is urging medical personnel to listen to what their patients are telling them and validate the way they feel. Now more than ever it’s important to listen to what your body is telling you and share it with your medical practitioner.
The type of symptoms described above that seem to be most prevalent in “long haulers” are symptoms that our Max Health and Wellness occupational therapists and physical therapists can provide assistance with, in the privacy and comfort of wherever it is you call home.
Our occupational therapy program can provide support to maintain or prolong independence if you are suffering from pain, as well as focus on improving your quality of life.
